VoIP system
There are two VoIp servers operational within the Silk
environment: one at UCL and one at DESY. The University College London manages a SIP server for
VoIP (Voice over IP) communication between participants of Silk. To make use
of this communication you need to have a telephone that supports the SIP
protocol and this telephone needs to be registered on the SIP server at the
University College London. Contact
John Andrews of UCL for further details.
DESY manages a CISCO VoIP system. To make use of this
system you need a phone that supports the SKINNY protocol. You must further
be registered on the system. Contact
Vladimir Lavrov for further
information.
